Happy Wednesday: shop our sale (with new styles) at jcrew.com

J.Crew had a decent update to their Final Sale section online (click here) this morning.

Lots of merchandise for everyone (970+ for Women and 220+ for Men). Moreover, it looks like several new pieces on promotion, along with some new price reductions. Yey!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Jaime, as well as Janet (in this post), who let us know that J.Crew is also offering customers free shipping (on orders $100+) with promo code SHIP100. This offer expires Sunday, August 12, 2012.

Did you check out the Final Sale section today? Were you able to snag any amazing deals? If so, please share! :)

  1. Their site is terrible. Is anyone else having trouble with it this morning? I can never get it to work when I want to get in! ARGHH!

    1. Thanks! Interesting article, plus a mention of this blog.

    2. I have a hard time swallowing their whole "quality" push when so many JCAs have had problems with splitting seams on pencil skirts, pilling sweaters, and hole-filled tees.. Oh well.

    3. “We are in a moment when we need to tell our story louder,”

Er, louder than this past season? I can't imagine it could get any louder with all the neon, brights and crazy prints. When we walked into a B&M in June my husband said, "It looks like one of those tiny cars full of clowns exploded in here!"

  5. I have been eyeing the Villa dress - its so cute - but I just bought that button-front dress during the 40% off sale!

  6. I noticed they've added new Promo-priced items for both the women and men, plus several of the items that were just on promo yesterday have been marked down today. I've updated both the women's and men's lists on my blog. :)

  8. Do full price promos still exist? It's been a while since the last one!

    1. I think they are trying to wean us off them but it's not working. I'm willing to wait til Oct if necessary since I won't be wearing any wool or cashmere until Nov at the earliest. I expect this hot summer we've been having on the east coast to continue into fall.

  9. Debating the safari cat cardigan that just popped back in my size. Anyone have a review of it? Worried the cotton won't transition well to fall.

  10. I really would have liked to see the blue colorway of the ribbon stripe top on promo during extra 30, and the free ship min lowered to $100 during that time too. Pass for me on this promo.

  11. Off topic, but I just received an email from Land's End Canvas. I clicked to their site to see a bed-headed, Poindexter glasses wearing model goofily dancing about in colored jeans, high heels and a chambray top. Ok....do all these companies use the same stylists and ad guys? It's a blantant JC copy. I'm not embracing all this sameness of style and look from every line and store out there. It's all getting really old.

    1. I am SO SICK of the glasses!! We get it - you're nerdy chic. Find a new look!

  12. Holy Cow! I just looked at the prices for the new fall Land's End Canvas items. They have boots for $200.00+, skirts and dresses $80.00 up to $140.00, sweaters $80-90.00. I guess they are trying to be serious competition for JC. I didn't see one thing I want. All looks pretty basic or just plain weird.

    1. I agree straycat. The quality too on the last items I ordered there left something to be desired.

  14. straycat, I agree with you - I'm tired of seeing the same things at every store. I know it happens but it seems especially rampant this season.

  15. Oooh, will the NYT article get its own post? Can't wait to hear what the JCA's have to say about it. ;)

  16. Ok ladies - the dervish top. Yes? No? Good price? Need someone to talk me out of it :)

    1. Honestly, it was atrocious on me and a few others, but good for some other people on here. Have you tried it on? Didn't see the price, but for me, it was a complete no go.

    2. No - I haven't tried it on. Just seen reviews- price is $140. Probably better to show restraint - loathe final sale :)

  17. This isn't really relevant but I stopped in my local store and they had some new jewelry pieces! A new bubble necklace in cobalt blue, a peacock necklace and bracelet, and a new elephant necklace--looks like the resin links from the frog necklace from this past spring but with an elephant! My store also said they are supposed to get new arrivals on Monday!

  18. OT, but I saw Mickey Drexler today in the 5th Ave store in NYC this afternoon... bustling around with an entourage of store associates and even a photographer!

    1. That is very cool! I wonder if the photographer is for an upcoming article?

    2. I just say Mickey Drexler today in the Georgetown store! The sales associate said he was visiting the new downtown store in D.C. No photographers with him, but definitely security personnel.

  19. OT but i was wondering if someone could comment on the schoolboy blazer- quality, fit etc? Thanks so much! also should i bite the bullet and buy it FP or can i wait for a promo (last fall promo they did was Oct i think).

    ReplyDelete
  20. I really love the schoolboy bought quite a few a FP last year - I was even wait listed for the red, which they then must have ordered too many of because it went on supersale. The quality is very good and it is a bit shorter than several of their other blazers (which I think are too long). I think they are worth FP but would wait a bit to see if a FP promo comes along because you probably won't be able to wear them before Oct.

    1. thanks! i hate to pay FP. i think i'll get it in navy if i do since it'll be my first blazer from there. i definitely don't need to be spending more money there than i already do, but in for a penny in for a pound! hahaha

  21. Instead of being hidden, the Schoolboy blazer in velvet, the Stadium-cloth mod coat, and the Icon trench in wool-cashmere are now in the Blazers and Outerwear section. I don't remember them being there when the last rollout first appeared online. In addition to all of this, the Majesty Peacoat is back.
